About Us
Our Philosophy
Prioritization
The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented and rapidly evolving crisis affecting the health and livelihoods of people across the State of Tennessee and the world. The City of Athens prioritizes the health and safety of citizens and visitors first and foremost and is committed to helping citizens navigate these uncertain times by providing the latest information, health guidelines, and COVID-19 resources that are available.
Communication
The City of Athens organized a recovery team to help communicate the progression of State orders and guidelines. This site aggregates information and materials from trusted sources, including the latest data from the Tennessee Department of Health, orders from Tennessee Governor Lee’s office, as well as local resources for Athenians and guests.
Moving Forward
We know Athenians are up to the challenge ahead. By working together as a body of informed and committed citizens, we can keep our city and her people moving forward.
The Athens Recovery Team
The Athens Recovery Team is a volunteer committee composed of members from the Council Advisory Committee and other community leaders.
